Moruzzi Numismatica was founded thanks to the passion and professional experience of my father, Nello Moruzzi, a well-known and highly respected Italian numismatist since the 1960s.
For many years he worked together with his colleague Federico Bartoli, contributing to the success of his firm, A & B Numismatica. In addition to his values as a generous and honest man, he passed on to us his passion for numismatics as well as his great cultural and professional background. In May 1980 he entrusted the business to us, but he continued to advise and encourage us so that this wonderful activity could become ever more professional and important. A continuity of over 50 years has made our shop a historic reality and, over time, a point of reference for Italian numismatic collecting.
He left us in 1996, but his memory and his advice are still alive within us and continue to inspire our work.
Today our activity is mainly focused on ancient and modern numismatics: we look for the best coins not only on the Italian market, but also – and above all – in Europe and worldwide, and at the most important specialist auctions. Our offers are carefully examined to guarantee authenticity, to determine the exact state of preservation and to provide a fair valuation. Historically, Moruzzi Numismatica has devoted great attention to banknote collecting, despite a certain snobbery on the part of numismatic professionals who, especially in the past, tended to treat this field with a certain superficiality.
